An innovative banjo/guitar player and versatile multi-instrumentalist, Devon Wells has taught music lessons for over 15 years. Devon spent his teenage years playing in bands and studying with some of the best guitarists in his hometown of Calgary. As an undergraduate music student at York University in Toronto, Devon would write, perform and record with acoustic duo In Blue River. Relocating to Vancouver in 2002, Devon established himself in the local music scene, performing with acts including Nettwerk recording artists The Clumsy Lovers and The Tishomingo String Band.

From lightning fast finger-picking to barn-burning instrumentals, Bluegrass Madness lights up student audiences with a rousing introduction to traditional bluegrass music. Band members take turns introducing their instruments and weaving in the history of bluegrass with classic tunes and original material. The group keeps students involved by giving the audience things to listen for, sing along to, and clap along to. For middle and secondary audiences, the trio will present a straightforward concert featuring both traditional and progressive works for bluegrass instruments.
